16th of April, times roll
Hello peeplz,

it's been way too long since I've given any info what I do or where I am or what's even happening. Well, all i can say that things are evolving, a lot!
For the last few months time I've done so many commissions and at the same time actually managed to almost complete my first book, big fantasy story in other words. It has everything different than any of the basic elf/troll/dwarf/man- compositions, but that's all I'm gonna say at this point.. except that it has a lot of magic and raw power and blood and tears and huge and mystical creatures with many heroes and villains. Yeah, I write too.. have no idea where I keep finding the energy and time to write, but I love it

So, now I'm making my second real big personal painting of the year 2008. The last one completed at January, believe that!! Haven't had time to do even a single painting, since it would take a big motivated kick in the butt and some time and lot of focus too. But now as spring is here, I've decided not to let anything come between this new baby of mine and just finish it, come what may.

Oh yeah, just a "small" news flash, my "Golden panda" -piece won a silver award (excellence) in Exposé 6. Think I'm never gonna get over that, lol!
Also I'm making two comic series to two clients at the same time, a commission painting and other stuff that are still on the table, waiting to be realized. So.. fun and busy times ahead =)

One more thing.. I order each and everyone who reads this to play the latest Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on Wii. It's the greatest.

best of inspirations and rays of sun to you all,

K

Exotique 3
Mmm... sometimes making tonns of work really pays off. "You sang to me" - piece made its way to Exotique 3. I'm so happy

This year
Hi,

Took some time before grabbing myself from the neck and finally managed to scribble something to this blog.. hehe.

First of all, this past year since last Spring, have been busy, I guess there's been like two weeks of actual holiday from different projects that have crossed my way.

Two major projects that I'm involved this moment and will be for some time on are Tuonela Productions, a gamehouse resided in Finland where I work as Leading conceptual artist. It's just started it's business and I'm very glad to be part of it. We're just started to make our first pc-game that's due to be ready by the end of this year.

Second project is working as illustrator and concept designer for Black Halo Entertainment. I create the characters and environments to a series of novels by Lewis Walker, called "World of Chi" and "Black Halo". To the first one I make the whole package, second one the environments. So all and all.. very exciting times ahead and going on.
Also have been doing various commission pieces and even squeezed the time to do some personal work as well.. I mean that's just just wow, hehe!

Updated my website just a few days back.. must say that it's extremely fun to change it once in a while.

Maybe I could write a bit more often these small notes.. wasn't that hard after all

best of the best to people of cgtalk!

busy fall
Hello dear people of cgtalk!

I'm still with you although my posting has been very rare compared to last year. I have been swanped in commissions so there hasn't been much possibilies to release my peronal works so often.

But as the leaves are starting to fall and all the most summer's jobs are over, I'll be surely returning to do more artwork that is all personal, but I can't promise anything, since the life of freelancer is very unpredictable

I have an art exhibition here in Finland for a couple of weeks that opens at 5.9. at Kaapelitehdas, so I'm very happy about it that my images get a chance to be displayed larger than on the monitor screen.

Also a Chinese 'Fantasy Art'- magazine is making a showcase of my art in near coming months, so I'm very excited about that too and looking forward what that can produce in the future

I wish the most productive and imaginitive late August and fall to all of you!

Another assignment
Now I have towo projects in my hands. The third is completely personal, and I just want to share my idea with all who reads this petty note

But first of all, I had a new wonderful illustration assignement from an advertisement company here if Finland. I'm very much looking forward to show those works to you as they will be finished.

Then I was being contacted from China, and Fantasy Art -magazine is making a new comeback this year and my works are going to be displayed probaply in October's issue

Then about my third project.. it's only in my head but as soon as things loose up a bit with my schedule, then I start working on a serie of illustrations based of 'Howl's moving castle'. I was so overblown by that movie (now I'm after the book) and my head just filled up about new stuff that wants to get on paper.
Recently I've been very easy with my ideas.. maybe too easy, since the subjects are relaxed and emotional. Now I must go 'back to my roots' and concentrate more about storytelling and depth of idea.

thanks for reading!
